State Pension

The grounds for the origination of entitlement to a pension in Georgia shall be the attainment of the retirement age of 65. However, women shall be entitled to a pension from the age of 60. The state pension is awarded to the citizens of Georgia, persons having the status of a stateless person in Georgia, and citizens of foreign countries who have been permanently residing on the territory of Georgia for the last 10 years at the time of applying the entitlement of a pension.

 

The amount of a state pension is 260 GEL. From January 1, 2022, the amount of a pension for pensioners over 70 years old is 300 GEL.

 

A person can apply to any territorial body of the Social Service Agency for the entitlement of a state pension based on age, regardless of the place of registration. The Social Service Agency considers the application for the entitlement of a pension no later than 10 days after applying and all necessary documents. In the case of a decision on the entitlement of a pension, the pension is awarded from the first day of the following month after the submission of the application, if the application is submitted in the month of the origination of the right to a pension or at any time after the origination of the relevant basis and the candidate meets the conditions for receiving the pension provided by the law.

 

A person having a status of a stateless person in Georgia must additionally submit the decision of the State Service Development Agency on determining the status of a stateless person in Georgia to the Agency.

 

The pension can be received via Liberty Bank services.

 

The entitlement to a pension does not originate, and the originated entitlement to a pension terminate during the period when a person carries out public activities.
